Spots and stains on your carpet is an alarming experience of every house. A blemish on your carpet is like a headache which will not go away unless the blemish  is completely removed. It is also very difficult to run after each blemish on your carpet every time it happens. Thus there are few process which one can follow to avoid tough spots on their carpets.
Some of the carpet spot removal techniques are:

* There is no point in vacuuming once in a while. Vacuuming regularly is very important so that the oils in the carpet can be removed easily. Oily soils will attract more dirt, and vacuuming can lessen soil buildup.

* Do not wait for a long time to clean spots. Once a spot has occurred on the carpet you should immediately clean it with a cleaning agent. The more time you give it to rest on the carpet, the more it will become tougher to remove.

* Use mild and appropriate spotters for your carpet. Know what type of carpet you own, and how will it react to different chemicals. Some may tent to fade, if you use harsh chemicals to remove spots. Always neutralize high alkaline containing agents.

* Do not use too much of detergents, shampoos and spotters. They might then leave residues which may be difficult to remove with even vacuuming.

* Do not coat your carpet if there are spots on it. This will result in the spots becoming permanent. Unless you are fully satisfied with the cleanliness of your carpet, do not coat them.

* Do not rub a spot, as this may result in it spreading in the carpet. Apply the leaning agent on the spot and slowly remove it without harming the thread of the carpet.

A professional cleaning should be done every 12-18 months as per carpet maker recommendations.
